Nurses are the “Most Trusted Profession” for 19 Years in a Row

In a 2020 Gallup poll, nurses ranked No. 1 as most honest and ethical profession.

Nurses Ranked Most Trusted Profession 19 Years in a Row

This comes as no surprise in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic and the Year of the Nurse and the Midwife, when nurses have been lauded as “Healthcare Heroes.” Eighty-nine percent of Americans–even higher than in in 2019—rated nurses as having “high” or “very high” levels of honesty and ethics.

Congrats nurses! Americans trust you and that means a lot. You can use your position to create a safe space when talking to your patients about sensitive subjects and lend your voice to decision making in leadership. Your voice carries weight. Advocate for your patients. Advocate for your profession. And continue to be heard.

What a way to continue the legacy of the Year of the Nurse and the Midwife!
